I met them in the Horse and Farrier in Threlkeld after they'd climbed down, how's that for timing ! I've no doubt we'll be back in the lakes later this year.

You got some great craggy top pictures on your climb.
The Glebe Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09609629219727888442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-45479984624739431102014-05-25T15:06:47.063+01:002014-05-25T15:06:47.063+01:00I remember all the lorry drivers having Michelin m...I remember all the lorry drivers having Michelin men on the front of their lorries! I can't imagine you quite looking like that somehow ;-)

I found Sharp Edge too polished in dry weather. Wouldn't fancy it in high winds either - don't blame your friends who went round instead.
Carol.Carolhttp://www.mountaincowardadventures.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-28590811147840686052014-05-25T13:05:17.139+01:002014-05-25T13:05:17.139+01:00Hi Kay,

Given up all that now for the slippers and deck chair life.
The Lake District is a fantastic area and I'm sure you would enjoy it but it is VERY popular in the summer months which puts many folk off as it is hard to park for free then and car parks can be up to £10 pounds a day. That's not a problem if you are not hiring a car though and it has a decent bus service to get around. There is so much to see there with lower level walks and quaint villages to explore that it's just as pretty in light rain or in winter and a lot quieter.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-43562191112512320062014-05-25T12:50:09.541+01:002014-05-25T12:50:09.541+01:00Hi Carol,

Couldn't do that nowadays as I feel more and more like the Michelin Man(remember Him?) with creaking knees, stiff limbs and a big belly to push over any scrambling sections.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-59472702076723122852014-05-24T15:54:02.892+01:002014-05-24T15:54:02.892+01:00Now that is what I call some real mountain climbin...Now that is what I call some real mountain climbing. Yeah, it's a nice ridge. Maybe the new owner will put a turnstile on it and charge folk an access fee for the scramble.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-6480402583465452532014-05-21T22:37:28.468+01:002014-05-21T22:37:28.468+01:00Are you putting in a bid to buy Blencathra now Bob...Are you putting in a bid to buy Blencathra now Bob? It's a nice mountain- I've never done Sharp Edge but the ridge straight up from the road is also good. Not quite so much scrambling but enough to keep it interesting.
