My house's main problem is that there seem to be incurable draughts. Years ago I worked out that most of the heating, even at full blast, went straight to the ceiling, and I always had cold feet so I really grudged paying hundreds of pounds for no benefit. So now I use the heating less and sit in my four season sleeping bag, toasty warm, two jumpers on, with warm feet, and only put the heating on morning and night to keep the house dry and any pipework unfrozen. That suits me but would not suit everyone. blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-27355808117704876062021-01-11T09:20:31.945+00:002021-01-11T09:20:31.945+00:00Hi Anabel.

Doesn't take much with our weather to turn grass muddy and slippy near the baskets.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-2994595930120326332021-01-09T20:32:03.878+00:002021-01-09T20:32:03.878+00:00I'll bet you're not getting heating bills ...I'll bet you're not getting heating bills like mine in my all-electric, totally rural house - my last month's bill was £220 and this month will be far, far worse! :-oCarolhttp://www.mountaincowardadventures.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-91857283417442877122021-01-09T18:32:13.100+00:002021-01-09T18:32:13.100+00:00We walk in Ruchill too, so much quieter than the B...We walk in Ruchill too, so much quieter than the Botanics or Kelvingrove, although we’ve never had the viewpoint to ourselves as you did. Sadly books and newspapers are on their way out with most folk using the internet for any info, which could bring down society as we know it as more and more folk get divorced from mainstream reality into the misinformation highway of twitter land. I couldn't write anything better than my semi autobiographical novel Autohighography anyway so that will remain my high point.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-86401770990394742532021-01-09T00:59:49.504+00:002021-01-09T00:59:49.504+00:00Hi Carol,

YOu so...That Scottish Power building is humungous!

YOu sound to be having far better weather than we are in Cumbria (I thought as much each time I looked across the Solway and could see sunshine every day). We've been well below freezing too for nearly two weeks but without even a hint of any sun. Most days it's drizzled all day, stayed around freezing and then frozen solid at night so we can't walk about anywhere at the moment - too dangerous.

Today the weather really capped itself. I had to go to work (20 mile drive) and awoke to 6 inches of snow and well below freezing with most of the roads ungritted! It will be even worse tomorrow morning going to work as it was already -7degC at tea-time and the roads still haven't been cleared! :-( Yuck! I hate winter!Carolhttp://www.mountaincowardadventures.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
