You are still going up large hills while I find city, coastline and lesser walks more enjoyable nowadays. Apart from better weather low down big hills are a real effort for me now with diminishing enjoyment plus painful knees coming off them if steep slopes. I can only do an occasional one, every now and then. Luckily, I like the other stuff as well. blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-36794907361471096712018-12-02T00:17:42.399+00:002018-12-02T00:17:42.399+00:00Hi Carol,

It was 26 years ago and we were the same in the 1970s, fascinated by the 1960s and a decade we'd just missed by being too young. The 1990s is ancient history when you are 10 to 35 now.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-29753874858305282872018-11-30T11:18:04.983+00:002018-11-30T11:18:04.983+00:00You keep introducing me to places I would never gi...You keep introducing me to places I would never give a second thought to! Dunfermline is good for a day visit but a fair distance away when you already live in an area bursting with ancient towns, villages and medieval cities. I loved walking around the walls and shops in Chester and exploring Bristol and Oxford years ago.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-19326011391064325362018-11-30T01:23:44.558+00:002018-11-30T01:23:44.558+00:00Hi Linda,

My Dad fought in WWII yet when I was growing up at ten or fifteen that period already seemed like ancient history to me. No proper concept of time at that age- just recent events that had some relevance to the present or way back there in a somewhat vague chunk of time and dates when it occurred, along with the Roman Wall. History means a lot more to me now at the end of life :o)blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-45976263023807840632018-11-30T01:06:23.589+00:002018-11-30T01:06:23.589+00:00Hi Kay,

What I liked about the museum was it had loads of ordinary displays- like sweets and toys from the 1950s and 1960s. Nostalgia for childhood things looking back is always a winner with most people. blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-3857706972385945552018-11-30T01:01:35.666+00:002018-11-30T01:01:35.666+00:00Hi Anabel,

The orange mansion house is also a museum, Pittencrieff Park is large and beautifully laid out, including the glen section and the town is worthwhile. Car parking beside P. park or buses from Buchanan Bus Station every hour. I never wait for the last bus back in winter just in case it doesn't turn up.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-39105040771729836832018-11-29T11:14:15.183+00:002018-11-29T11:14:15.183+00:00I love the architecture of that wonderful round to...I love the architecture of that wonderful round tower at St. Leonards Church, which is so reminiscent of the medieval one at Brechin Cathedral in Angus. I have only stayed there briefly when my husband lectured at the Marine Services School in Rosyth, and it looks as if it is a place that would be well worth returning to.Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03814070177137076757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429013260986201371.post-33615738407335735032018-11-29T02:37:25.845+00:002018-11-29T02:37:25.845+00:001990's kitchen?
